Our winery is located within the Designation of Origin Ribeiro, named like this for being located on the "riverbank" of the the Miño river and its tributaries. lt is the oldest Designation of Origin of Galicia and one of the most historie one of Europe.
The peculiar climate of the area favours the cultivation of our grapes, stumps and vines, which are benefited by the natural barriers and its southern location in Galicia. They protect the territory of the sub-Atlantic squalls and provides an eco-climate of Oceanic-Mediterranean transition, which is humid with warm temperatures of 14.5 ºC year-round average.
The fact of having features of the Oceanic and the Mediterranean climate allow that the fruit of the vineyard can ripe preserving its aroma and acidity.
The soils are of granitic origin, with a significant presence of stones and gravel that improve the soil macrostructure and the clusters insolation. The predominant textures are sandy-loam, although one can also find loamy textures in areas of alluvial sediments and finer textures on metamorphic rocks.
